Fairfield-Mabey has a wide-ranging knowledge of different bridge steelwork erection techniques including incremental launching, bridge sliding, strand jacking and using heavy land based cranage and floating plant. Each scheme is engineered by the company's in-house temporary works team overseen by a Chartered Engineer. A site visit is always made so that the basis of the scheme can be discussed and agreed in full with the client before being committed to paper as part of a project specific risk assessment and erection method statement.
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality issues are of paramount importance throughout. All related issues are communicated to the site teams via the project site file so that site personnel can be fully inducted with scheme and task specific issues being brought to their attention prior to any works commencing.
This approach has provided Fairfield-Mabey with an enviable site safety record and ensured that the company's reputation for providing a quality product on time and to budget is maintained from project to project.
