Fairfield-Mabey is involved in the supply of a small number of footbridges on a regular basis. These include vierendeel truss, warren truss and other 'simple' structures supplied on a Design and Build basis. Such footbridges normally form part of a larger package of works including highway bridges or railway bridges for clients who prefer a single source of supply for all of their steelwork requirements.
Fairfield-Mabey is also involved in the fabrication, erection and protective treatment of 'complex' footbridges that are made predominantly from steel plate and which have complex plan and vertical geometry requirements. To these projects, the company brings its extensive experience of plated steelwork fabrication and protective treatment issues, together with its ability to deal with complex geometry cost effectively, to ensure that the projects' architectural requirements are met without compromise.
